The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) mandates that all employers who are required to maintain the OSHA 300 Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses post a summary of the previous year’s log between February 1 and April 30 each year. Even if no incidents occurred in the preceding calendar year. The summary (OSHA Form 300A) must be certified by a company executive and posted in a conspicuous location where notices to employees are customarily posted.
Is Your Business Exempt From OSHA 300A Requirements?
All employers who have more than ten employees are required to comply with this rule unless they qualify as part of an exempt low-risk industry. However, all employers, including those exempted by company size or industry classification must report any workplace incident that results in a fatality, patient hospitalization, amputation or loss of an eye. Employers in exempt industries or under 10 employees may also need to comply if asked in writing to do so by OSHA, the Bureau of Labor Statistic or a state agency operating under the authority of OSHA or BLS.
