2017 Minimum Wage Changes by State

On January 1, 2017, a number of states will have minimum wage increases that will take affect for hourly workers.  There are also several municipalities that are increasing the minimum wage.  Another change to note for California employers is the minimum salary for exempt employees who work for employers with 26 or more employees is increasing from $41,600 to $43,680 per year.

For California employers, although the federal overtime rule changes are currently on hold, California’s state law is still in effect. Employers with 25 or fewer employees will not be subject to this increase in 2017, since the applicable minimum wage for their employees will remain $10.00 per hour unless they are in a jurisdiction that is higher than the state minimum wage.

OnePoint automatically updates state and local minimum wages in a system summary report to stay compliant.
